What’s Inside

Each WrayFaire kit includes everything needed to try Sashiko-inspired stitching, complete a craft card, and create a small fabric project or patch. Sashiko began as a practical Japanese stitching tradition used to mend, reinforce, and extend the life of well-loved cloth. Those small, sturdy stitches add strength, beauty, and a little everyday magic, helping useful things stay useful a bit longer.

Craft card & mailing envelope

Each kit includes a quality craft card with a printed stitching pattern and a blank inside for a handwritten note. Once stitched, the card can be tucked into the included envelope and sent out into the world.

Genuine cotton Sashiko thread is included for strong, visible stitches that can hold up to wear. Sashiko thread has a different feel than regular sewing thread, giving each stitch structure, texture, and staying power.

Craft card & mailing envelope

Each kit includes a quality steel Sashiko needle, selected for stitching through paper, fabric, and layered cloth. A needle threader makes setup easier, while the four pins can hold fabric in place for mending projects. One pin is also used to poke the pattern holes in the craft card before stitching.

The fabric squares are hand selected and hand cut from rescued 100% cotton, linen, or hemp garments, with occasional pieces of fabric deadstock mixed in. Because the materials are rescued, each kit has a little variety built in. No two fabric sets will be exactly alike, and that’s part of the charm.

Craft card & mailing envelope

The self-adhesive, water-soluble pattern is designed for the fabric project or patch. Each pattern matches the design on the front of the craft card, so the practice stitches can continue onto cloth. When the stitching is finished, the pattern rinses away with warm water.
